With a network of 15 private reserves totalling more than 23,000 hectares of protected ecosystems, Fundación de Conservación Jocotoco offers some of the best birding opportunities in Ecuador.

In five of the reserves, cosy and comfortable lodges will enhance your birding experience. In our reserves, you can see more than 900 species of birds; they are the best sites for some of the most-wanted birds, such as Jocotoco Antpitta, El Oro Parakeet, Great Green Macaw, Blue-throated Hillstar, Black-breasted Puffleg, and Pale-headed Brushfinch.

You can also spot Spectacled Bears, Mountain Tapir and different species of monkeys, including the critically endangered Brown-headed Spider Monkeys.

Jocotours is the commercial branch of Jocotoco, in charge of the tourism management at the reserves. We offer tailored tours for birders and nature lovers. Your visit to the reserves directly supports the conservation work of Fundación de Conservación Jocotoco.
