The Coastguard Lookout is a historic property located along the Old Hunstanton Clifftops in Norfolk.
Originally built as a Marconi Wireless Station back in 1906, the Coastguard Lookout played an important part in both World Wars, intercepting German radio transmissions and tracing German fleet. In 1976 it became a maritime museum which eventually closed and several years later the property was restored by new owners.
The property features a top floor lookout, which gives unrivalled panoramic views of the Wash; perfect for watching birds, boats, the ever-changing tide and for catching beautiful sunsets.
Norfolk has a stunning range of bird life and beautiful nature reserves where it can be discovered all year round. Old Hunstanton is only a short walk away from the property where you'll find a shop, a delicatessen, a post office and several pubs and restaurants. The cliffs and beach are just a 5 minute stroll away!
Brickley Rise is idyllically found in under two acres of enclosed private gardens, previously apart of Ingoldisthorpe Hall Estate, Norfolk. Ideally situated for birdwatching and ramblers, it is also close to endless attractions including 1 mile to Snettisham RSPB, 3 miles to the Sandringham Estate, Wolferton Royal Railway Station, Burnham Market, Holkham Hall and North Norfolk Railway in Holt. The area is surrounded by many stunning beaches including Hunstanton, Holme, Brancaster and Sheringham just to name a few which are all within easy reach. In 2017 & 2018, Brickley Rise was awarded a 4 Star Gold rating by Visit England.

The British-Bulgarian Society pioneered bird-watching tours to Bulgaria over forty years ago. Each year we run a winter tour focusing on Red-breasted Geese and other winter wildfowl. We also have a spring tour combining southern Bulgaria’s mountains with the river deltas in northern Greece, two countries and two contrasting habitats. Finally there is an autumn migration tour along the Black Sea coast, the spectacular Via Pontica flyway.
Our tour prices, which include flights and the security of ATOL bonding (through our partners of over twenty years, Balkania Travel) are extremely competitive, as one of the Society’s aims is to introduce British people to Bulgaria’s rich wildlife, beautiful countryside, historic and archaeological monuments and its unique wines and food, especially the tasty grills and mouthwatering salads.
We, and our experienced professional guides, look forward to sharing our knowledge and enthusiasm with you.
