The Treehouse

THE 'TREEHOUSE' is in the picturesque village of Boat of Garten, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. This unique self-catering lodge is set in almost an acre of mature pine and birch wood, with views of the Cairngorm Mountains.

The local shops are only a few minutes’ walk away, yet the lodge is peaceful enough that often the only sound is that of birds singing, or the steam train puffing past.

The heart of the Treehouse is the spacious, comfortable lounge with log burning fire. It is a place to relax, and enjoy the views through the trees to the stunning scenery beyond, and the window seat, at the far end of this room, is ideal for birdwatchers and red squirrel spotters.

There are three cosy bedrooms, large kitchen, modern bathroom, and a storage/drying room. The large deck, elevated to maximise the views, really does make you feel as if you are in a Treehouse.

There are numerous woodland walks nearby, and Loch Garten, home of the ospreys, is only a few miles away.

Field Guide to Birds of Patagonia and the South Atlantic

Field Guide to Birds of Patagonia and the South Atlantic - Matias Torreguitar

Birding is quickly becoming a worldwide experience and visiting Patagonia and the South Atlantic is a must. This bird identification tool was written by a native Patagonian birder, a person that has travelled the Extreme South time and time again who is willing to share with you his knowledge on 57 bird families and more than 350 species, many of which are ENDEMIC to the area or breed exclusively there.

The Common Names Index on this Field Guide is linked to each species page for fast identification and the page number links you back to the index, the Family Index is also linked to each family page and the page number will return you back to the index enabling readers to go back and forth easily from species to species or family to family… your iPad, tablet, or electronic device will be always ready for your next observation…
