London Bird Club 19.00. Camley Street Natural Park. Free talk. Red Kites in the Chilterns. Phil and Ann Farrer. Ann was Group Leader of Hemel Hempstead RSPB Members Group and Phil is a Chartered Biologist and photographer. Both have been involved with the Red Kite release project in the Chilterns and their talk presents a history of this majestic bird in Britain and its reintroduction to the Chilterns and elsewhere. British Ornithologists’ Club “A long-term study of the Black Guillemot colony at Bangor, Co. Down” by Julian Greenwood. This long-term study demonstrates that an advance in timing of breeding is associated with temperature rise in seawater and also shows that Black Guillemots don't always play happy-families. 6.00pm Tower Rooms, Section A, Sherfield Building, Imperial College, South Kensington, London, SW7 2AZ. RSPB Croydon Local Group “The Flora & Fauna of South-East England” - Brian Gallop is a widely-travelled naturalist, but returns to these shores for our talk, with some stunning images of birds, butterflies, flowers and fungi. London Bird Club 19.00 Camley Street Natural Park. Free talk. What Happened To London's House Sparrows? Dave Dawson. Exploring current ideas on the decline of the house sparrow in urban areas, especially London. Dave has examined data from counts in Wimbledon Park, LB Sutton and a walking transect from Chessington South to Nine Elms.
