Birdfair 2011 essential information

When: Friday 19th August - Sunday 21st August. 9am - 5.30pm.

Where: Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre, Egleton Nature Reserve, Rutland Water

Admission: Adults: £12.50. Children: Free. Discount for RSPB and Wildlife Trust members on Sunday only: £10

Arriving by car:

The Birdfair can be reached from the A6003 (coming from Uppingham or Oakham) and the A606 (coming from Stamford/A1). Follow signs for the Birdwatching Centre from both roads.

From London and the South-East: A1 North, West on A606 to Oakham.

From North-East: A1 South, West on B668 to Oakham.

From South-West: M5 North, M42, M6 South, M69 Leicester, A47 Uppingham, A6003 Oakham.

From North-West: M6 South, A50 East, A6, A6006 to Melton Mowbray, A606 to Oakham.

Arriving by Train:

The nearest train station is in Oakham. The Birdfair organisers run a courtesy bus service between the Fair and Oakham railway station. On Friday and Saturday the bus meets all trains arriving between 9:15 and 11:30 am and returns between 3:30 and 5:30 pm. It will also meet all Sunday trains.
