How to take part
Well that's the really easy part. All you need is a pen, some paper (you can download the RSPB's bird ID sheet here) and a spare hour to watch the birds in your garden. Or you could try your local park. And it's all happening this weekend, the 28 and 29th of January 2012.
Simply make a note of the highest number of each bird species seen on the ground (not flying over) at any one time.
Once you've completed your hour visit the Big Garden Birdwatch website to submit your results.
It's that simple.
